What kind of doctor has an agent in New York to negotiate his assignments with his celebrity patients?

Well, a doctor right here in Chicago, who might come in contact – literally — with more famous people each year than an

yone in the industry. Chiropractor physician, Dr James Stoxen DC has become the in-demand backstage doctor when major touring acts hit Chicago. It means he spe

nds a lot of late nights with a lot of famous people. You may not have heard of him yet, but the top celebrities know him as “The Doc” and the “go-to” guy when they need to recover from road-weary aches and pains fast.

In the last few years he’s provided care to more than 200 top entertainers, representing the “who’s who” of Grammy and Tony award winners and “American Idol” stars.
He is hired by concert tours featuring such performers as, Aerosmith & Lenny Kravitz and Kanye West. Stoxen has acted as backstage chiropractor to Broadway national tours such as Contact, Spamalot and Hairspray. His practice, Team Doctors, is located at 6432 S. Pulaski, and was one of the first in Chicago that combined chiropractic treatment with cutting-edge strength and conditioning training in his private training center.

Athletes who are patients of Stoxen include UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, recent IBF Lightweight Champion, recent IBA Lightweight Champion David Diaz, UFC fighter, Shonie Carter and many more. The reason so many high profile clients come to Stoxen isn’t because he is schmoozing or for who he knows. It’s because of a unique anti-aging, performance-improvement treatment approach that his clients now demand – not some glitzy Hollywood-type surgery. Its much better than that. What is it about this treatment that made him a guru of sorts all over the world?

The intense, hands-on intervention he developed reverses patterns of spasms, restrictions and fixation in joints; freeing the body up to work as it was engineered to. These abnormal patterns are related to the way the foot plants, and the bad habits are stored like a bad golf swing in your brain. The key is to reverse the bad patterns, allowing new healthier patterns of body motion. This puts less strain on the frame during walking or other movements, giving the body the right environment in which to heal.

In fact, Dr Stoxen’s unique treatment approach has got world-wide attention in the medical community. By the end of 2006, Stoxen will have educated over 20,000 medical physicians from over 50 countries in venues such as the Royal College of Physicians in London, England, the famous Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand and many others.

He recently gave a presentation on his approach to several thousand medical doctors at the AISET International Conference in Tokyo, Japan. The total participants, was well over 9000 which is a concert hall bigger than the ones that the top recording artists he is assigned to. Stoxen recalls a time when a reporter from Playboy flew in from New York, just to interview a Grammy Award-winning recording artist Stoxen was treating for a sprained ankle. The reporter asked to do the interview immediately, because his flight was leaving. The artist told him it had to be some other time, because he was being treated by Dr Stoxen. The Playboy magazine reporter flew back to New York without his interview. Stoxen gave the artist two hours of treatment that night till the ankle pain was gone. The next night, the pain was gone – and so was the reporter, but the artist didn’t care: he performed for his fans without missing a step.
